Joe knows the backstory for all of his plants; ups and downs, medical histories, where they used to live and how they liked it as compared to where they are now. Many of the plants have grown larger than people. They crowd in to protect framed maps of the generations old property upstate, a sewing chest from grandmother and other prized family possessions. A mix of found and fabricated furniture fills the spaces in between, waiting be designated heirlooms or sent to the curb.
